NERA began many years ago as a network for public sector employees working in neighborhood revitalization or community engagement in north Texas. They met together informally for years, but in 2019 these professionals representing different municipalities from all across the region came together to (1) approve NERA bylaws and (2) vote for the first slate of board members.
